Alprolix is an injectable medication used to control and prevent bleeding in people with hemophilia B. Hemophilia B is also called congenital factor IX deficiency.
The drug is a long-acting, fully recombinant coagulation factor IX with an extended half-life.
Alprolix is intended to stop bleeding in patients of any age with hemophilia B, as well as for prophylactic use. Prophylactic treatment is carried out at an initial dose,
the drug is administered every 7-10 days. Subsequently, the interval between administrations of the drug can be adjusted depending on the individual response.
Alprolix is the only recombinant coagulation factor IX for the treatment of hemophilia B that provides patients with longer protection against bleeding with fewer prophylactic injections.
