Atozet contains two active substances atorvastatin and ezetimibe. It lowers total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol), and triglycerides (fatty substances) and increases HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) in the blood. It is suitable for patients whose cholesterol levels are too high and for whom diet alone is not able to sufficiently reduce these levels.
In Atozet, the mechanisms of action of the two active substances complement each other in their cholesterol-lowering effects. Atoset reduces the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine and inhibits the body’s production of cholesterol in the liver.
Atozet reduces high blood cholesterol and triglycerides. Cholesterol is one of several fatty substances that are found in the blood.
