Otezla is a selective immunosuppressant that modulates the work of inflammatory mediators.
Apremilast treatment showed significant improvement compared with placebo in patients with moderate to severe psoriasis. Apremilast was effective in a range of psoriasis clinical manifestations, including pruritus, nail and scalp lesions, and quality of life.
The clinical efficacy of apremilast was confirmed in different patient subgroups based on baseline demographic and clinical characteristics (including psoriasis duration and history of PsA). The positive clinical effect of the drug was independent of previous psoriasis drug therapy and its results.
